Dr. Robirds obtained his doctor of dental surgery degree in 1980 from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX. Eager to further in his dental education, he enrolled at the Emory University School of Dentistry, where he was granted a certificate in the specialty of Orthodontics in 1982. June of 2017 marked his 35th year of providing orthodontic and dental services to the Austin community. In addition to his work within the Austin community, Dr. Robirds is an active member of the greater dental community, holding membership with numerous professional organizations.
Dr. Robirds is actively involved in the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). During his time in the organization, he has been recognized for his work as a Board Certified Orthodontist by the American Board of Orthodontics; Consultant to the Council on Orthodontic Healthcare; Delegate of the AAO House of Delegates; member of the board of the Southwestern Society of Orthodontists (a regional constituent of the AAO); former president of the South Western Society of Orthodontists; former president of the Texas Association of Orthodontists (the state component of the AAO); former president of the Capital Area Dental Society (the local component of the AAO).
